2008 Election Candidates for Northland

With the elections nearly here, I thought it would be handy to share who is running for the Northland region this time. Presently National's John Carter is occupying this seat and has been since 1996. Other nominees from other parties are:

* Shane Jones - Labour
* Martin Leiding - Greens
* Pita Paraone - NZ First
* Melanie Taylor - Family Party
* Hone Harawira - Maori Party
* Alan Wood - ACT
* Viv Shepherd - Progressive Party
* Phil Johnson - United Future

FYI, some of the party websites were extremely easy to find out this information but navigating around a few others was like a confusing maze of dead ends. Labour, National, Act, The Family Party, United Future were all very very easy and user friendly but unfortunately it took me over half an hour to find a simple list of regional candidates for NZ First, the Maori Party and the Progressive Party. Not good, surely the last three want people to vote for them in which case you'd have to be able to find out who to vote for in order to do so.

I'll be posting more information on our 2008 National Elections every now and again during the next few weeks.
